Information retrieval
Introduction
The technology of complicated science of search and data extraction, and metadata in different kinds of data sources such as document banks, collection of images and web is called information retrieval. With the daily growth of data volume stored in different accessible sources, the process of retrieving and extraction of information has become important. Intended information can include any source such as text, image, voice and video. Unlike databases, the data stored in big data sources like web and it’s subsets like social network does not follow a defined structured, and generally does not have a specific and defined meaning. In this situation, the purpose of information retrieval is to help the user to find intended information in an unstructured mass of information.
Currently the members of WTlab’s information retrieval group are active in fields of search engine and text retrieval.
