Natural language processing
Introduction
The computational linguistic study group started its work at 2008. Web technology lab with the purpose of developing natural language processing tools and utilizing the interest of students in this filed, with the cooperation of computer and linguistic experts have had important achievements of producing computational linguistic tool.
By having weekly sessions directed by Dr. Kaahani from computer engineering group and Dr. Jahaangiri, one of the certified professors of linguistic group of literature college, and also the attendance of many PhD and MSc Students, step by step, WTLab became known as one of the founders of this research filed in Ferdowsi university of Mashhad. So that in a short time, by publishing the results of its research, has gained a deserving and well-known place in the country.
Computational linguistics is an in-between field of study in the computer science. Use cases of this fields are: detecting speaker and its details, spelling correction, machine translation, text to speech conversion, text summarization, Q&A systems, parallel and comparative figures, sematic labeling and etc.
Currently the members of WTlab’s computational linguistic group are active in 3 fields of Natural language processing, text summarization, and machine translation.
